Once again, boaters had nine days of social fun in the idyllic island setting of the Abaco Sea and its outislands. For most of the days, racing sailboats saw good breezes with sun and some fleeting moments of light rain. Spectators from a variety of different boats enjoyed watching the fun and hanging out at the parties. New friends were made and old friends reunited.
Any sailboat can participate in this regatta, from low-key cruisers who don’t normally think about racing to serious spinnaker racers. Boats are grouped in various classes according to their PHRF rating. There are five races in the series and you can join one or all for an exciting shot at stardom. Lots of prizes are awarded and the daily parties often conclude with giveaways and special treats. Participants and spectators get to tour a good portion of the Abacos in a social setting since each race day is held in a different part of the Abaco sea.
