Welcome aboard! A writer, artist & marine electrician/mechanic, solo cruising sailor Rebecca Burg, has been unable to resist the joy of creative expression since childhood. Because her studio is on the sea, her completed paintings were available only through limited outlets. Now, with onboard wireless internet technology, the artist can maintain contact with collectors and art lovers worldwide. You can peruse her latest work in the comfort of your own home without having to go out to sea.
The artist paints and writes onboard her classic Bayfield cutter, Angel. Inspired by her seasonal sailing travels to exotic tropical ports and by the beauty of her natural surroundings, Burg’s realistic paintings are vivid celebrations of light and color. She is most known for her depictions of rare, exotic wildlife and thoughtful spiritual themes that reflect the traditional ways of her native ancestors.
With a formal college education and work experience in the mechanical engineering field, the artist is also an ABYC certified marine electrician. She also works as a small outboard mechanic and helps fellow cruisers with general marine repair work. Her boat is a veritable traveling "tool box" and shop.
